This school year, the Orono Intermediate School Character Council raised good money for good causes.

The council raised $400 through “Donuts for Dogs.” Jolene Coleman, president of Crossroads Animal Shelter, recently visited OIS to accept the check. (See picture below.)

At the beginning of the year, council members brainstormed on what they wanted to accomplish for the year. After landing on Donuts for Dogs, the council selected Crossroads because it benefits the communities served by Orono Schools. Animals that are lost in this area are taken to Crossroads.

The council also raised $500 for Pinky Swear Foundation. The money was raised by selling carnations during Teacher Appreciation Week.
