Meet Dr. Steiner

This is my 25th year in education and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with so many wonderful students, families and colleagues. I began my career working with students with special needs at the high school level, and I have been in administration for past 15 years. I am passionate about ensuring all students succeed and develop strong relationships with the staff in our building. I am excited to be a part of the Orono community!

In my free time, I enjoy watching sports, especially hockey and golf. I love to read, watch movies and travel when I can. I grew up in Minnetonka and live with my husband, John, who is an engineer.

Meet Ms. Boyd

Growing up in Minneapolis with summers spent at our Green Lake cabin gave me a genuine appreciation for all things we enjoy as Minnesotans. And, with great teachers serving as great role models along the way, I always knew that I’d like to teach someday.

As an administrator, I’ve had the opportunity to work in several outstanding districts here in Minnesota, and also in the state of Virginia where I was the principal of a large high school ranked as one of the top 100 in the nation. While there, I was invited to participate in the Secretary of Education’s forum for national high school reform initiatives. It was a tremendous experience, and I learned a lot.

A favorite quote that became a motto for many of our OHS student leaders is from Margaret Meade:
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has”.
