Summer Band

This is a great opportunity for returning band students to continue to improve their musical skills and enjoy playing their instrument over the summer. Our band directors and highly qualified music instructors will help students achieve a high level of competence and keep up the skills needed to succeed in band during the school year. Summer lessons are highly encouraged for optimal progress in student’s books and overall knowledge and familiarity with the instrument and performing in band.

Beginning Band Students – Grade 4

The One Note Above camp is for beginning students only. In this four-day camp, students will learn music basics (note names, rhythm, terms, etc.), and instrument techniques (set-up, making a quality sound, first five notes and instrument maintenance). It is intended to give students a quality start on their band instrument in a creative and collaborative learning environment, while a qualified instructor reinforces positive playing habits. The camp is a small group setting so everyone is learning together. Students will then continue with five 30-minute or 15-minute individual lessons throughout the summer to expand on concepts and reinforce musical skills. This one-on-one experience will ensure students the best possible start on the instrument so they are more than ready for when band starts in the fall.
