37 students in grades 8-12 represented the Orono delegation at the 64th annual YIG Model Assembly on January 4th-7th. Our students, along with nearly 1,500 others from across the state, gathered at the State Capitol and took on the role of legislators, lobbyists, judges, and journalists. Orono Schools participated in the ME to WE initiative, WE Scare Hunger Food Drive for the 5th year. From October 30 – November 2, students in grades K – 12 brought in non-perishable food items to school for donation to the Maple Plain Food Shelf. In addition, we partnered with several local businesses during the week.… Food drive collects over 1,600 pounds
