Child care is available for currently enrolled children of emergency workers (information on who qualifies available at the Minnesota Department of Education website under “Guidance for Districts and Schools” titled School-Age Care for Children of Emergency Workers: Priority Categories of Workers) ages 4-12 and other families in our community who need care in order for parents to go to work to provide critical services. This care will be provided from 6:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. beginning March 30. If your children are enrolled in Orono Schools and you are in need of emergency care please contact: Katie Gram, School Age Care Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org
During Orono School’s spring break week (March 23-27), programs are closed as staff plan for students’ return and train to use best practices for social distancing. We are also deep-cleaning our facilities to support the health and safety of the children and staff in child care. This care is being organized by the Orono Community Education School Age Care program with extra support from paraprofessionals and other Orono Schools staff during school hours. Staff are committed to supporting our kids.
