Orono High School senior Kevin Cornelius was selected as a state 2018 Minnesota High School League Triple A Award recipient. He joins Noah Carlson of Houston High School, Brianna Kreft of West Central Area High School and Allison Prestby of Alexandria Area High School.

The announcement was made March 24 during ceremonies at the Loews Hotel in Minneapolis.

Established in 1988, the award recognizes and rewards high school seniors from across the state for their achievements in academics, the arts and athletics. To qualify, students must have a “B” or better grade point average and participate in league-sponsored athletic and fine arts activities.

League member schools are invited to nominate two students – a boy and a girl – for the award. (See more information on the Orono High School nominees here.)

State award finalists and recipients are selected through a multi-level process involving the league’s administrative regions and a committee of athletic, fine arts and educational leaders. One boy and one girl from Class A schools and one boy and one girl from Class AA schools receive a four-year $1,000 scholarship.
