Orono earns a new national quality ranking

National Council for Home Safety and Security rating logoOrono Schools placed among the top 3 percent of districts nationwide in a ranking released by the National Council for Home Safety and Security. NCHSS has previously ranked the safest cities and safest colleges.

To rank the Best School Districts in America, NCHSS collected data from a total of 9,577 school districts. The following factors contributed to its ranking: student performance (math and reading test scores), dropout ratesschool funding and area poverty rates. Of the districts examined, Orono ranked 281 nationally and ninth of 26 Minnesota school districts that made the cut.

Previously, Orono has been distinguished as a school district by What Parents Want, Schooldigger.com and Niche.com. In addition, Orono High School has achieved superior national rankings by Newsweek, U.S. News & World Report and The Washington Post.
