“Making Sense of Public Education Funding” will be held from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, at the Eisenhower Community Center, 1001 Highway 7, Hopkins.

The guest speaker is Tom Melcher, director of the Program Finance Division at the Minnesota Department of Education. Considered to be a leading expert on public education funding, he holds a doctorate in educational administration from the University of Florida. Before joining MDE, he worked as a research analyst with the Institute for Education Finance at the University of Florida, and was an assistant business manager with the Collier County, Florida Public Schools.

There will be ample time for questions.

The evening is sponsored by the legislative action coalitions of the Hopkins, Orono, Robbinsdale and Wayzata public school districts.
