Orono High School senior Ella Gagne and junior Caroline Koehl won first place in the Classic Debate Championship Tournament held December 2-3 at South St. Paul High School.
OHS brought four teams with two students each. In all, there were 123 teams representing 14 different schools from the Twin Cities, Rochester and Mankato. Thirty teams competed at the varsity level.
“This is an exciting accomplishment and milestone for the OHS Debate Team!” said OHS social studies teacher Michelle Naylor, who is the debate team coach.
