It was a special day, in more ways than one, for Orono High School on Saturday, September 24.

Above:  OHS mathematics teacher Michelle Swenson, front row center, was honored as the 2016 Special Olympics Minnesota Outstanding Volunteer. A great Orono contingency was on hand.

OHS graduate Hank Seward (Class of 2016), front row center, was honored as the 2016 Special Olympics Minnesota Outstanding Unified Partner. Seward is attending the University of St. Thomas this fall, but has agreed to keep ties with the Unified Club at OHS.

The Distinguished Service Awards ceremony was held at the Pantages Theatre in Minneapolis.

Below: On the same night, back in Orono, Unified Club partners brought Special Olympics athletes to the OHS Homecoming dance.
